How did I pass the test?

So, at this pt, if you're going through the classes your wondering, how the fuck am I going to pass this test? It's a bit overwhelming, all of the information, and they tell you only 50-70% of people pass. Pam, who is super amazing, kept telling us, "so what if you fail the first time, wait 24 hrs and take it again. AND tell everyone you passed the first time." The other thing she would tell us, she's brilliant, is "you know that hot mess of a realtor that you don't know how they got out of bed, they passed it. You can do it!"

Buckle up and put the time in....
I read thru the 1st 4 chapters a few times. They are the most important. For some reason the 1st chapter was the hardest for me. But you'll find that some chapters are easier than others.

Honestly, I didn't start studying until 3 days before the test. But that's all I did for 3 days. They say to schedule your test close to the end of school so that you don't forget a lot of what you learned in class. We ended class on a Friday and I scheduled it for the following Thur. I probably would have scheduled it for the Wednesday but it was Jay's birthday.

First thing I did was take the Pearson vue practice test. I wanted to know where I stood with out studying. When you take the test you can also hit hint on each question and it'll give you the correct answer. So I kept my iPad close and turned the ones I got wrong into a sentence. I missed passing by 2 pts. Not bad, if I do say so myself. For not studying. I'm not a genius, but I think I'm pretty smart. Lol. Even tho I failed it, I learned a lot. I saw how the test was presented and worded. Also, it gave me an idea of what I didn't know.

Then I went back and looked at the Pearson Vue packet that we got in class. Inside there is a breakdown of how many questions are in each section. No brainer, I figured out which sections have the most questions and focused on those. Unfortunately, the section don't directly correlate with the book. But, it puts you in the right direction.

For each chapter, I read the chapter, read the high lights in the book and then took the quiz for the chapter. I felt like this was the best gauge to see how much I learned. And you can clearly see at this point that some chapters are harder than others. After the taking the quiz, I did the flash cards in the app, then took the app quiz..... the app quiz and the quiz in the book are very similar, and some of the questions are even the same. But it reinforces the right answers and get you used to reasoning out the answer. Then I would take the quiz the school gave us. Which is way harder than the actual test. I did this for all of the most important chapters. Which was probably only 10ish of the 20something chapters.

Now, to be honest I failed the state test the first time. I missed by 2.5 answers. Booooo!!! But I had an idea of what kind of questions they were going to ask and I remembered the ones I couldn't answer. As soon as I got home I had to find the right answer. It totally bothered me. If you fail, you just have to wait 24 hours and then you can reschedule. They won't rescheduled you for the same day. But it wasn't the worst thing having an extra day to study. So I took the time and read the book thru twice and read thru it again but just the highlights. The next time I aced it!

Boom!!
